Novelty ~ Aster Beaded Sphere

Novelty ~ Aster Beaded Sphere

Stitch this pretty beaded sphere using connected floral motifs made of superduo beads.  This sphere is a dodecahedron, one of the five Platonic solids often used to make three-dimensional beaded shapes, although at first glance it may not appear so.

  • About This Tutorial...

To make the Aster Beaded Sphere, you will need 7mm two-hole cabochon beads, Matubo superduo beads in two colours, size 11/0 Miyuki seed beads in two colours, size 15/0 Miyuki seed beads and a 47-48mm bead or ball of any material for inside the sphere.

If you do not have the specified size of inner bead, subsitute a 40mm ping-pong ball with a beaded cover to increase the size.  Instructions to make this cover are included in the PDF file.  You will need Czech seed beads in size 6/0 (two colours) and 11/0, as well as some size 15/0 seed beads.

Experience making beaded spheres is recommended but not necessary.

The 16-page PDF tutorial includes a detailed materials list, written instructions with full-colour illustrations and photographs.  It is a digital file that can be viewed on a screen or printed on sheets of paper. There are no beads included with the purchase of this pattern.
